Vipul, who was born in India, now resides in Windermere, Florida and works in Sales. He describes himself as fun, witty and hyper.
Even though Vipul and his wife and Race partner, Arti, are well-traveled and speak several languages, they were one of two teams to be eliminated in the first leg of the Race.
Vipul has been a Race fan for many, many years and finally convinced Arti to apply with him. He says that listening to Phil go over the rules at the start of the race was "pretty much a dream come true."
When asked about their elimination, Vipul says that problems with their taxi driver on the way to the Great Wall were the biggest issue. He says they got off the wall pretty quickly and were told that they were among the fastest teams up there, but, unfortunately, it was a little too late.
Regarding the road block, Vipul said he would be lying if he said the fish eyes tasted like chicken. Although he managed to finish the task of eating eight of them in about 10 minutes, he said the worst part was the smell.
In the short time they were on the Race, Vipul and Arti were able to bond with a few teams at the airport and on the plane to China. They hit it off really well with the Cho brothers. In fact, Vipul says, the Chos actually helped them during the brick laying detour, which they didn't really show on TV. They stopped and told them which pattern and how to do it. Vipul and Arti were very grateful especially because, at the time, the Chos were in second to last place.
