Bio
Susan, with her son Patrick, was part of the first mother/son team to ever compete on the Race. She's the director for judicial affairs at Miami University in Ohio. She and Patrick's father have been married for 34 years and also have a daughter, Elizabeth. She and Patrick nicknamed their team "Fair and Imbalanced," and expected that they would end up complementing each other's strengths and weaknesses well. Her biggest fear going into the Race was the unknown, and was willing to do anything except shave her head. She felt that the Race gave her great self-confidence and a desire to take on new challenges.
