Michelle is a devoted mother of three who works with her husband Lake in his dental office. While Lake has a "type A" personality, Michelle describes herself as being more laid back. She is loyal, kind, and loving to everyone close to her. Michelle was a huge fan of The Amazing Race prior to earning a place on Season 9. She was confident that they would be strong competitors, since they had "a lot of years of working together" as husband and wife, mother and father, and coworkers. She was hoping to go back to Japan, the place of her birth. Michelle proved that she could take on any challenge that the Race offered, and that her relationship with her husband was built on a strong foundation that
even the stress of the Race would never shake.
