Megan Linz was 21 when she won "The Amazing Race 8: Family Edition" with her brothers Nick, Alex and Tommy, known as Team Who-Dey, an homage to the Cincinnati Bengals.
When asked why they were picked for the Race, Megan said "It's really weird: My mom and I were shopping in the airport, and the casting director approached my brothers. You could say that we look like that all-American family. When we sent in our video, we showed we could have a good time together, and I think they wanted to show that families can get along and put aside the bickering and stress."
Megan is the only girl in a family with six boys, Tommy, Nick, Alex, TJ, Matt, & Tim. She is older than 2 of them. Although she's outnumbered by the boys, she and her brothers are very close. "I've lived my entire life surrounded by boys. Not only my brothers, but all their friends. So, you know, the farting, the burping — it just doesn't bother me anymore. It really doesn't. They were so good to me, and they really helped me along the entire race so it was actually a really good experience for me."
The Linz family is from Cincinnati, Ohio. They are close-knit, with over 50 of Megan's first cousins living in or near the Cincinnati area. Her parents have been married for more than 28 years. Megan is often called 'Cinderella' by her father, and 'Noodle' by her brother, Alex.
Megan was a student at Miami University at the time of the Race. She then took some time off and worked for her Dad's company. Now, she has gone back to finish school and Megan wants a career as an event planner.
Megan is single, but dating one guy. She enjoys field hockey, painting, and hanging out with her friends.
