Jamie, who hails from Columbia, South Carolina, was a member of the National Honor Society at the University of South Carolina, where she obtained her bachelor's degree in advertising. Outgoing and friendly, Jamie currently works in film production.
Jamie and her best friend and Race partner, Kellie, spent their college years as co-captains of the University of South Carolina Gamecocks cheerleading squad.
The girls had hoped to be the first all-female team to win the Race. Unfortunately, they were given bad directions by the locals in Mongolia and were unable to make up the time their detour cost them. Jamie said it was the language barrier that really did them in. "These people really wanted to help us -- they were being really nice -- but we didn't speak their language and they didn't speak our language." The girls stayed at the road block for as long as production would let them, but, in the end, were forced to quit.
